The ARC discharge correction of Fusion Splicer

August 23 , 2023
The ARC discharge correction function of the fusion splicer is to judge the discharge intensity according to the axial deviation before and after the discharge of the welding part, and automatically correct it to the standard intensity, so as to achieve the standard of suitable discharge intensity and suitable discharge position, so as to achieve low loss and stable optical fiber splicing.

When the atmospheric environment such as: temperature, humidity, air pressure changes, the temperature of the discharge of the fusion splicer is also constantly changing, which will change the original discharge intensity of the fusion splicer, resulting in deviations in the discharge intensity.

In addition, the wear and tear of the electrode rod and the dirt on the electrode rod (the debris of the optical fiber sticking to it during splicing) will also cause changes in the discharge intensity, and the discharge center position of the electrode will be left or right relative to the position of the optical fiber fusion offset. At this time, a discharge calibration needs to be performed to solve these problems.

Under what circumstances does ARC discharge correction need to be done?
① Changes in the temperature, humidity, and air pressure of the operating environment
②After the machine has been used for a period of time, there are continuous bubbles or excessive loss in welding
③After cleaning and replacing the electrode rod
④ After the electrode rod is used more times
⑤ The machine has not been used for a long time, when it is used again
